New AVG version released

Most people out there use AVG's free anti-virus. AVG has now released version 8 of their well-known and trusted anti-virus. As of end of May updates to the older version will be discontinued. The new version comes with a whole lot of new functionality. AVG has incorporated their anti-spyware (previously Ewido) into the new version. They have also created a new component called LinkScanner. When you do a search on any search engine, AVG scans the results and lets you know whether the page is safe to view.
I found this to slow things down a bit and also to be quite annoying. After Googling a while I found instructions on how to remove the LinkScanner component or to just install without it from the word go. I posted the instructions on my blog: Install AVG without LinkScanner.
