Web Design in PE

Having to pick up and fix a project like this, often requires more time and effort than if we just built the website from scratch ourselves. I understand that people always go for the best deal. And it is rather bothersome that there are guys out there that will do it for next to nothing. The problem is that these guys do it for so cheap, because they only know the basics, but are not aware of the other finer little details involved in web design.
For instance, mention SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) to one of these guys, and the reply often is, 'Huh?'.
A while ago I posted a story about this on our blog, giving some tips to people in the market on how to spot a good web designer. Just some simple questions they could ask him before taking on the job. I find that even though there are more and more businesses here in PE that realise the necessity for having a website, they are often ignorant to the technology.
There is more to having a website than simply having a pretty looking web page.
